Project Free TV is a streaming video website recently launched. By now the internet is a buzz by searches for the website. Need to watch an episode of Spin Crowd? How about Swamp people from history Channel? Maybe some would even be searching Project Free TV for Glee or Paul Jr designs of American Choppers: Senior vs Junior. Yep, the press release for the website says that they’ll feature everything and visitors can view at their own leisure by just opening the website. Not only will it stream tv shows but also movies and anime. This makes watching reality tv shows all the more exciting and finally, nobody has to sit and wait and watch endless commercials, the website virtually has no ads in between the videos!
It might seem a little bit impossible for a website to do, for one thing, recent copyright issues have been scaring users left and right. And piracy is still a crime though. However, the owners of the website Project Free TV has found a little loophole that makes it completely legal. That is, they don’t upload the videos themselves. What the owners of the free streaming website does is to skim and browse online video sites such as youtube, google videos, vimeo and others. That’s when Project Free TV goes into action. It copies the videos uploaded from other streaming videos for example youtube. When youtube removes the video due to a violation, the video still remains in Project Free TV legally. The copyright laws can’t touch the website as the website would have proof that they didn’t upload the video in the first place. Still the website is for those who can’t afford to view their favorite shows on cable or have missed the favorite show for other reasons, and shouldn’t be used to rip videos and sell them in DVDs.
