Orange County Choppers or other wise known as OCC is a manufacturer of custom motorcycles in Orange County, New York. It was founded on 1999 by Paul Teutul Sr and his son Paul Teutul Jr. As a custom motorcycle manufacturer, they have garnered some fame and attention after Discovery Channel aired them in American chopper, a reality TV series showing the father and son building custome made motorcycles for their eccentric customers. Viewers loved the constant bickering of the father and son as well as the crew and they have made some very unique but functional motorcycles that could almost be considered novely motorcycles.
There have been some shake up and down with the staff of Orange County Choppers such as Mike Campo who was able to leave on good terms. Vincent DiMartino and Cody Connelly also left and they created V force customs which is near Orange County Choppers. Paul Teutul Jr however was fired in late 2008 without much elaboration of the incident. Paul Teutul Sr. tried to buy out the share of Paul Jr which made up 20% of the company and there is even a case ongoing while the value of Orange County Choppers is evaluated.
In April 2010, after a year of non-compete clause stipulated on the contract, Paul Jr. was able to start his own new non-motorcycle design company. Of course TLC, sister channel of Discovery, has approached Paul Jr and Paul Sr and commissioned “American Chopper: Senior vs Junior” the 7th series of the popular reality TV show. Viewers are excited at how the father and son will compete with each other.
In the first episode, it shows how Paul Jr and Paul Sr are still not talking amidst the ongoing lawsuit but they try to compete with each other on the show. There is more drama on the set after Paul Sr.’s other children Mikey and Paulie are also no longer talking to their dad. The show however docuses more on Paul Jr on how he left his dad and is Paul Jr designs in doing what he does best, motorcycle designing.
