Glee Britney Spears Episode Review (Season 2 Episode 2) and Another Britney Episode in the works!

Oops I Did It Again - Glee Britney Spears Episode

By now America may have satisfied their Britney thirst with Glee Season 2 Episode 2 Brittany/Britney episode. Glee Season 2 just enjoyed a successful new season premiere with the addition of new cast Dot Jones as Coach Shannon Beiste, Chord Overstreet as Sam Evans and Charice Pempengco as Sunshine Corazon. This week’s episode momentarily breaks off some of the heavy plots opened in Glee Season 2 Episode 1.

And sure enough, Heather Morris shines in this episode as Brittany. Her resemblance to the pop star Britney Spears had Gleeks clamoring for a Glee Britney Spears episode. It was sneaky the way new Glee cast John Stamos was introduced as Carl the dentist who William Schuester played by Matthew Morrison is getting jealous off. Although the scene was knit together by the use of anesthesia in Stamos’ clinic, the hallucinations were “epic” as Rachel Berry would term it. There won’t be much spoilers in this review about the songs featured in Glee Season 2 Episode 2 however it was funny seeing first Brittany getting dosed with gas and the rest of the Glee club followed suit. Teasers from last week also showed Rachel Berry doing a Britney song and almost all were able to have their fave Britney songs played out. And it means everyone including Artie.

Although the episode showed remarkable production numbers of Spears’ songs, the story plot was very much laid back compared to Episode 1. The whole episode was liven up after Britney Spears herself appeared on the show in a couple of scenes though as part of the hallucinations each of the Glee members were experiencing. Maybe the laid back plotlines this week will be preparing everyone for a massive tearjerker for Glee Season 2 Episode 3 after a vague trailer shows Kurt’s father in a hospital bed.

On a happier note, Ryan Murphy admits in a panel at Comic-Con 2010 that after Fox coverage of the 2011 Superbowl, another Glee will be paying another tribute to a major star. Murphy though did not divulge who the star is but rumors flying around say it’s another tribute to Britney Spears! This time Spears will have a bigger role come January
